Amazing Finds of Global Proportions

I thought now would be a good time to let you in on a little secret.  Not only do I have a slight furniture addiction, but I also have an obsession with vintage globes. I am going to share about these “amazing finds of global proportions.”

globalproportionsI remember how it all started, I purchased my first vintage globe at goodwill with plans to put it in my children’s bedroom.  Can you believe that I actually changed my mind and tried to return it!!! I know, all of my vintage globe loving friends are now shaking their heads in disbelief, but I did eventually find the perfect spot for it on my hubby’s dresser.  After that I was hooked. and now my collection has grown to include this big boy.

I won mine at a local auction and only paid $5.00! Here it is next to my SUV, it is almost as big as the tires!

I am not really sure what it is about vintage globes that draws my attention.  Maybe it is the colors, the memories of my childhood, or owning small piece of history.  Either way, I will continue to search for globes to add to my collection.  Do you collect anything? I would love to hear about it!  Feel free to leave a comment below, thanks for reading!
